Was I scammed by the dentist today?

You probably did or depending on what work was done to the tooth before-if any then they might charge for undoing all those things. But most likely it is an error or straigh up scam, make copies of your paper work bring the original and the copy back just in case they ask to see it you can have your copy for proof, because you never know what else they'll try and pull.
