GH: What exactly is it that Sonny does thats illegal?

I've been told that he ships coffee or something.....I don't get how thats illegal, and how is Dante gonna try to bring him down if he doesn't do anything bad?..And he has partners in puerto rico?...Anthony and Sonny made an alliance right?....what is Anthony's buisness?...and if they are allies, why did Anthony Zacchara send this Joey Limbo guy to take out Sonny and Jason?...I'm confused.
