How many 4x6 photos weigh an ounce? I need to know how much postage to put on before I mail them out.?

I'm mailing from New York to Kentucky. I know distance doesn't matter, but I have 16 photos and a letter to mail to my fiance. The last thing I was is to send it out and have it returned when he really wants pictures of us to look at while at BCT.
